Born in 1998 in Haifa, Israel, and raised in France and Germany, Inessa Wilden is a painter based in Germany’s North Eifel region. Working primarily with acrylic, gouache and oil sticks on canvas, she creates figurative and symbolic works exploring how the body carries experiences of change, vulnerability, and resilience. Her practice is characterized by vivid color contrasts, rich textures, and a focus on themes of healing, transformation, and the complexity of the body.

Drawing from personal experiences of recovery and change, Wilden’s work explores the body as a place where physical and emotional experiences are felt, processed, and remembered. Her paintings engage with themes such as illness, trauma and the often-overlooked experiences of women’s health, while reflecting on vulnerability, strength, and the body’s capacity to adapt and heal.

Before dedicating herself fully to painting, Wilden studied Biology and worked as a botanist, developing a lasting interest in living systems and the relationship between the body and nature. She later completed a degree in 3D animation, which expanded her visual approach and understanding of image-making. She now focuses on painting as her primary artistic medium.
