EMBRACING UNCERTAINTY

Embracing Uncertainty is a series of gouache paintings created in response to the theme Unscripted. Developed during a period of separation, the work reflects on the experience of letting go of control and finding freedom in uncertainty. Living with endometriosis has profoundly shaped my relationship with unpredictability, influencing not only my body but also my sense of stability, relationships, and expectations. Working with gouache, loose brushstrokes, and flowing washes of water became a way of embracing the medium’s unpredictability, allowing movement, chance, and imperfection to shape the paintings. The series reflects on vulnerability, healing, and the possibility of finding beauty in uncertainty rather than trying to hold everything together.
